![]() ![]() The other thing I don't care for is the amount of volumetric effects used. That's all done with color values for lights in the 3D modeling. The entire place had a washed out look that finally changed back to normal when you removed the curse. Hard to say for sure.Īn example of how lighting affects game coloring.AC Origins used bland lighting in Memphis (I think) to show how that city was cursed. Anyway, I noticed different regions looked a bit washed out in places and others were overly saturated, again most likely do to color of lighting. ![]() Lights in 3D modeling (games) have color values and it seems some lights really add too much warmth to where Laura's face is orange, but moving her a bit or rotating her will cause that to change to normal flesh colored. I just captured a screen on my PC (see link below) as I was fast traveling from place to place and noticed the lighting is realliy inconsistent. You could trying lowering your system Gamma and raising the Saturation in NCP and see what happens. I do see what you mean about looking washed out though in shadows in places. :-( I looked at your seems to be renderiing ok in shadows with relef (not flat) and bump mapping taking place. The game is decent, don't get me wrong, but it could look a LOT better. I still have some pretty washed out butt-ugly visuals. It just edits the graphics settings to what Nvidia believes is the best for your system and current game. From what I've read about GFE, it only sets different options for games, it doesn't do any behind-the-scenes magical tweaking. ![]() Originally posted by EbonHawk:Didn't help me, not setting the same parameters as you, anyway. I am using 399.24, latest driver, if that matters. Whatever the case, this actually fixed that problem. ![]() I noticed Expierence added a new AA mode into the game settings that I don't think was there before called "SMAAT2x" that its using now. One thing missing in shadows areas was "Bump Mapping" a really big deal. I normally totally ignore Experience rather do things myself, but it genuinely fixed this problem, the game now looks amazing. I haven't bothered installing GFExp in years cuz I always take time at the graphic settings to adjust everything, especially for graphical demanding games like this. GFExp doesn't provide the user a brand new set of graphic parameters, except maybe DSR but that's just a reworked version of SSAA. Originally posted by Nefrai:Doesn't Experience simply adjust the ingame options to what it feels matches your PC's abilities? If I run the game on Max settings, would I get anything out of Experience making change? Now if Experience can actually make changes to the game beyond the settings we are given, that would get me pretty interested. Makes me wonder if this problem is specific to Nvidia cards? I would be curious if others having this problem had good results using Experience as I did? The game now looks like it should, with areas in shadows having depth and details, the game is well worth playin now. It worked GREAT! I never use Experience but this time it was key to fixing this on my machine. I just fixed that problem on my system by using Nvidia Expierence to Optimize this game BUT first I made sure to click on the "Wrench" ICON next to the "Optimize" button to first set highest quality for Optimizing games. Like block walls looked smooth, flat and washed out.shadow areas looked 2D. The biggest part of this problem was zero relief in those textures as you can see in the "Before" image. Aside from adjusting Monitor Brightness one tic higher the only thing I did is described below. Others posted similar screens with the same Flat, Muddy looking modeling issue. I posted descriptions and sample images yesterday about muddy, flat looking textures in shadow areas. ![]()
